About Jody Wisternoff

Jody Wisternoff’s influence and contribution to dance music cannot be overstated.
Between breaking through to the DMC Hip Hop finals as a fresh faced 13 year old in 1986, and putting the finishing touches to his band’s fourth studio album in 2008 a lot has happened. His early 90’s act Sub Love were one of the largest draws on the UK Rave festival circuit and his hook up with Bristol dj Nick Warren in 1994 gave us the aforementioned Way Out West. With big singles (The Gift/ Ajare/ Mindcircus/ Killa) and big albums the majors came running and it produced their enormously prolific remix period touching up everyone from the fantastically cool to the fantastically desperate. The production duo also transformed into a 5 piece live act in support of the 2004 “Don’t look Now” album and Jody’s put out a few solo crackers in the interim with more to come. So what connects the dots between the Global DJ, the teenage Hip Hop prodigy, the Hardcore rave act, the mega selling progressive house act and the solo nu disco offerings of this year’s hit “Starstrings”? Well obviously it’s Jody, but more than that it’s his quest for the perfect beat and bass line, the need to layer the best string, to squeeze the most perfect note from the technology available, to match the best track for the best moment at the right party. And it’s that constant desire for perfection that drives him on and on.

About Ricky Ryan

Anyone with even a passing interest in the progressive house genre will either know of Ricky Ryan, or should make a point of getting on board pronto. Ricky’s profile has grown substantially over the past two years, gaining attention being mentored by the likes of Sasha and John Digweed.

It’s not often that you come across a really outstanding DJ, combining oodles of talent with a livewire personality. But Ricky Ryan is just that. In fact, there’s a major movement going on in Argentina, with Ricky one of the leaders. Without banging on too much, his success is exemplified with his show on Proton Radio setting a new record of 1,000 simultaneous listeners, along with rave reviews from Sander Kleinenberg, Danny Howells, and Desyn Masiello.

2006 has seen Ricky tour extensively worldwide, play at the WMC in Miami, and land a residency at Warung Club in Brazil.

Ricky’s sound is distinguished by a broad variety of music styles, from beautiful warm house, to big pumping dance floor anthems. Aside from the music, Ricky’s genuinely likable and approachable personality is a breath of fresh air. His passion and enthusiasm has helped him forge some terrific friendships, and this network is a key reason why he can tap into an abundance of exclusive goodies.

Along with being one of the world’s hottest up-and-coming DJs, Ricky Ryan is just as well respected for his remixes and productions. You could loosely categorise him in the progressive house genre, kind of like Luke Fair, however what really grabs me is that Ricky’s really cut his own sound, taking the listener on an awesome soundscape from rock and alternative, to silky smooth house and pumping progressive.

Under his Can Costa moniker, Ricky is also a prolific producer and remixer is his own right. The stage is set, and Ricky is quickly becoming one of the World’s leading underground music acts.

Ricky Ryan is a one-man band. From playing guitar, drums and jazz vocals he seems to have it all covered. His enthusiasm for acquiring instrumental talents has spread across to this production side, where in a small number of years he has risen towards the top of the progressive genre with a multitude of original tracks, remixes and even his own label, Sick Watona.

About Fat Phaze & Slow Motion

Slow Motion – http://www.myspace.com/rockonslowmotion

Rummaging through in his parents’ records, Slow Motion realised very soon that he had a strong passion for music. He listened to everything he could. From Craig Armstrong to The Cure, From George Clinton to Miles Davis, and so on… He’s interested in all kinds of music. He begin to focus on the Electro wave in the 9O’s, thrilled by the sound of the abstract Hip-Hop lead by DJ Cam, DJ Shadow and DJ Krush. To satisfy his apetite for new sensations, he founded Slow Motion in 2000. The starting point of a young career was when he meet the members of Fizz, the same year, who helped him produce his first maxi, “Flash”, thanks to their label Sismic Music. In the beginning of 2006, Slow Motion worked with Fat Phaze on a remix for the artist Parkerlab and his great new version of the anthem “Eisbar” by Grauzone. Always together, they prepare their first mixed compilation “I love my enemies” with tracks and remixes by Tiefschwarz, Oliver Koletzki, Who made Who, Superdiscount, Sharam Jey… Although far from the roots of the clubbing culture, he find in Electro music the best way to communicate his emotions.

Fat Phaze – http://www.myspace.com/fatphaze

Olivier Huguenard, DJ for 15 years and Emmanuel Plégat, musician and composer, started their cooperation in 1998.They quickly developed a very specific sound in their productions, as a signature, synonym of power and efficiency on the dance floors.
Many projects came out, included one in a major company (Fizz), but FAT PHAZE project actually started in 2001 to freely express electro 80′s influences from their teens influences made of enthralling melodies and atmospheres, and entrancing choruses. This parisian duo mixes with talent peppy rythms and harmonies, and mostly uses analogical sounds to transmit their musical universe.
The result of the growing complicity between Emmanuel, musician and Olivier, DJ, is now a matured project with own identity and recognizable style. For integrity they kept through their releases, major artists and producers such as Moonbootica, Sharam Jey, Mylene Farmer, Lottie, Da Fresh (and many more) took interest in their work. So started cooperations and frienship, giving you remixes from/for FAT PHAZE these 3 past years.

Their fame increasing, strong labels such as Polydor, Missdemeanours rec, King Kong rec, Underwater, Work it Baby (and others) invited FAT PHAZE to work with them. Thanks to the confidence various producers and labels grant, FAT PHAZE experiments with great pleasure and opens up on new horizons

About Kolombo

http://www.myspace.com/kolomboloulou

In 2004, Olivier Grégoire aka Kolombo produced many electro house EPs under the name “LouLou Players”, with co-producer Djerom and vocalist Lotus, which were released on Sharam Jey’s label, King Kong. Thanks to high sales, LouLou Players have also remixed many tracks for artists like Darren Emerson, Fatphaze, Dahlback & Ekenback, John Acquaviva, Remo feat Cheleonis R Jones, …

Carried by his growing success, in 2005, again with Fabrice, he founded an independent electro label supported by Audiopolis Distribution. Called LouLou Records, Gregg uses the label to release his tracks, under the artist name Kolombo, his new solo project. Kolombo allows himself to put out a wider variety of sounds, from dark electro to minimal, while keeping his electro house feel throughout his productions. Currently he is signing many tracks and remixes on labels like Strobe Music, Lektroklash, Color, Blu-Fin, Jackmoves, Dirty Dancing, Kitt Ball, Destination, Artminimal and many more. Since September 2006, Kolombo joined Mugwump: a project where he produces music in collaboration with Geoffroy and Compuphonic. At the same time, he is managing to create a new record label with Marc Romboy from Systematic called “Vice versa Recordings”. To start off 2007, Kolombo signed with his friend “Compuphonic” 2 releases on Tiga’s famous label Turbo and a Systematic project under his real name.
